What are the responsibilities and job description for the X-ray Technician (PRN) position at Park Plaza Surgical Specialists?
Responsibilities
- Performs radiographic procedures under a variety of conditions for patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric.
- Proactively minimize radiation to guest and team members by practicing radiation protection techniques and following company policies and procedures.
- Provide a genuine welcome to all guests as they enter ROC and assist in hospitality efforts by maintaining a courteous, attentive and professional manner.
- Follow all protocols to reduce anxiety, provide explanation of treatment and ensure each guest departs with all questions answered.
- Assist with guest flow including rooming guests, taking vitals, taking inventory/ordering supplies, educating guests and applying DME.
- Apply safety techniques, register guests in PACS and transport guests between rooms.
- Ensure operation of radiology equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements including but not limited to following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, scheduling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventory and service history.
- Assist providers with guest care by documenting care utilizing both EMR and PAC technology.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements.
- Maintain and evolve professional and technical knowledge.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure PHI is secure at all times.
- Has a comprehensive knowledge and working understanding of HIPAA regulations and continual compliance.
- Performs other duties as determined by supervisor.
Competencies
- ARRT 1-year or Orthopedic experience preferred
- Louisiana Medical Radiologist License
- Models ROC values and delivers a professional service experience
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Teamwork, listening skills, enthusiasm and flexibility and adaptability
- Proficient in computer skills
