Duties

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
• Apply paints, stains, sealers, and coatings using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools for efficient coverage.
• Execute residential painting projects including interior walls, ceilings, trim carpentry, and fixture installation to create polished finishes.
• Perform commercial and industrial painting tasks on various surfaces like stucco, masonry, concrete finishing, and metal structures using specialized techniques.
• Read blueprints and schematics accurately to determine project scope, color schemes based on color theory principles, and specific application instructions for renovation or restoration projects.
• Conduct surface repairs such as plastering, caulking, masonry work, and drywall finishing to prepare for painting.
• Assist with construction estimating by assessing materials needed for each project while adhering to safety standards on construction sites.
• Support renovation efforts by performing framing carpentry, trim carpentry, drywall installation, and maintenance tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction painting across residential, commercial, or industrial settings with knowledge of construction site protocols.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and safety equipment required for various painting techniques.
• Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math for accurate measurements and calculations.
• Knowledge of surface preparation methods including sanding, scraping, plastering, caulking, and restoration techniques.
• Experience with specialty coatings such as stucco or industrial paints is a plus.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
