Job Type: Full Time (in office)
Duties / Responsibilities
- Support and advise cross-functional teams in the negotiation and review of contracts that balance legal risk with business objectives.
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of real estate and other commercial contracts, including leases, management agreements, parking licenses, purchase and sale contracts, marketing agreements, construction documents, and financing documents.
- Conduct legal research and apply research to business objectives and communicate the analysis in an easily understood work product.
- Collaborate with outside counsel on litigation matters and in managing the company’s intellectual property portfolio.
- Assist with transaction due diligence, including title and survey review, drafting easements, and performing other post-closing activities.
- Draft and manage corporate governance documents.
- Drive the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes.
- Maintain expertise concerning the impacts to the business regarding changes in the legal landscape.
- Proactively anticipate potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Provide support on other related matters as necessary or assigned.
Education and Experience
- Juris Doctor Degree with 1-3 years’ experience working in a law firm and/or corporate legal department setting.
- In good standing with a state bar
- Experience supporting acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and other transactional matters affecting real estate is preferred.
