Associate General Counsel | Equipment Finance
Altius Search Group is conducting a search on behalf of a client for an Associate General Counsel to support and strengthen its legal team. Our client is a growing equipment finance organization seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its legal team. This position will report directly to the General Counsel and serve as a key legal partner to the business. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in commercial and transactional law, along with the ability to provide practical legal guidance in a fast-paced financial services environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys working closely with internal stakeholders, balancing legal risk with business objectives, and supporting a broad range of matters related to contracts, compliance, lease transactions, and portfolio issues.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and transactional documents
Provide day-to-day legal support to business teams on contract, operational, and regulatory matters
Assist with lease enforcement matters, including workouts, recoveries, bankruptcy-related issues, and other collection matters
Advise internal partners on legal and compliance issues involving equipment finance transactions
Support legal matters related to UCC, titling, documentation, and secured transactions
Partner with internal departments, including sales, credit, collections, operations, compliance, and human resources
Help identify legal risks and provide practical, business-oriented solutions
Contribute to the continued development of legal processes, policies, and best practices across the organization
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law
2 to 4 years of relevant law firm or in-house experience in commercial, corporate, or transactional law
Strong contract drafting, review, and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative business environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a solutions-oriented mindset
Experience advising on collections, lease enforcement, compliance, or employment-related matters is a plus
Familiarity with UCC, titling, secured transactions, or equipment finance is strongly preferred

Compensation and Benefits

Work Arrangement
Candidates who are able to work onsite are preferred, though remote consideration may be available for especially qualified individuals.
Salary : $150,000 - $185,000
