Description:
We are seeking a full-time Admissions Coordinator to guide residents and families through the admission process in our Skilled, Assisted Living, and Memory Care neighborhoods and to maintain and grow census by developing, marketing, establishing a relationship and networking with referral sources. The Admissions Coordinator will work directly with our Admissions Director and will assist in managing leads in the primary referral hospitals within Chicagoland (Endeavor, Northwestern, Rush, Loyola, Gottlieb, MacNeal, Shirley Ryan, Advocate) ensuring a smooth admissions process for patients transitioning from a hospital setting to our skilled nursing facility. This role will also assist potential clients through the admissions process in our assisted living, working directly with the residents and their representatives. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of Medicare & Managed Care guidelines and clinical understanding related to the referral process and/or direct sales experience in the assisted living setting.
Requirements
- The core responsibility is to maintain budgeted census levels in all three areas of healthcare, in coordination with the Admissions Director.
- Must have basic computer skills. Will track all incoming referrals in a computerized CRM tool, and will enter demographic information into the medical record. Experience with PCC and/or Aline software a plus.
- Effective communication with Administrator, Admissions Director, clients and referrals.
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, orally, electronically, and in writing.
- Must have excellent organizational skills, responding quickly to inquiries.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc.
- Must be familiar with the laws, regulations and guidelines governing the release of information.
- Preferred candidates will have at least one year sales experience, preferably in health care services or direct experience as an Admission’s Coordinator.
- Must have a basic knowledge of Medicare and Commercial Insurances. Will work to obtain insurance authorizations.
- Must have an understanding of clinical conditions and common medications and must be able to screen patients for admission to Park Place of Elmhurst.
- Ability to travel locally if needed.
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
- Pass a physical, drug screen, 50-pound lift test, fingerprint for criminal background and complete the orientation program.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
