BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: This is a high-level maintenance position requiring manual labor in the performance of semi-skilled and skilled work of a physically demanding nature. In the absence of the Water/Sewer Superintendent and/or the Maintenance Supervisor, this position will be required to execute leadership decisions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Installs new water and sewer mains and replaces obsolete mains. Repairs water and sewer mains and service breaks utilizing a backhoe. Installs pipe sections and make taps on main for service connections. Sets manholes and valves. Maintains manholes and valves. Repairs meters, sets meters and meter boxes. Functions as crew leader.
Qualifications
Graduation from high school or G.E.D. Experience in safe operation and driving of trucks and equipment. Prefer two (2) years of experience as crew leader repairing water and sewer lines. Prefer three (3) years experience operating a backhoe or other related construction equipment. Must be able to perform all essential job functions.
