We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing engineering services firm which operates as a fully owned subsidiary of a publicly held parent company. The Senior Accountant will perform monthly accounting processes, including financial closing activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing engineering services firm which operates as a fully owned subsidiary of a publicly held parent company. The Senior Accountant will perform monthly accounting processes, including financial closing activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Complete monthly / quarterly financial close procedures that include preparing standard journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and reporting.
- Prepare P&L analyses monthly, track expense accruals, and assist in the preparation of the annual budget, monthly variance reporting, and ad hoc analytics.
- Review balance sheet accounts and prepare adjusting entries.
- Ensure account reconciliations are prepared and reviewed monthly.
- Manages lease accounting activities and prepare lease entries monthly in accordance with ASC842.
- Maintain fixed asset subledger and prepare depreciation entries. Ensure fixed assets subledger reconciles with corporate tax software.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure transactions are posted timely and accurately; prepare correcting entries as needed.
- Provide ad hoc reporting as requested.
- Assist with the maintenance and documentation of internal controls for SOX compliance.
- Review internal controls to identify weaknesses and implement remediation plans.
- Conduct monthly physical inventory counts and reconcile any discrepancies.
- Record and apply cash receipts and ensure variances researched and resolved
- Reconcile bank accounts monthly.
- Prepares monthly account reconciliations for payroll, and sales & tax accounts.
- Assist with the preparation of federal, state, and local tax filings.
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in accounting
- Excellent understanding of GAAP
- Public company and Engineering industry experience are pluses
- CPA highly preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills and attention to detail are imperative
- Adept in using Microsoft Office Suite and proficient with ERP systems
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
