Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for an Executive Director at the Parent Information Center of Delaware, located in Wilmington, DE, with flexibility for some remote work. The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s day-to-day operations, developing and implementing strategic goals, managing staff, ensuring financial stability, and expanding programs to better serve families and professionals. Additionally, the Executive Director will cultivate relationships with stakeholders, including parents, educators, community partners, and funders, to advance the mission of the organization and improve educational outcomes for children with special needs.
Qualifications
- Leadership and Management: Proven experience in strategic planning, team leadership, and organizational development. Strong ability to oversee staff, delegate tasks, and ensure effective operations.
- Advocacy and Community Engagement: Experience with stakeholder engagement, building community partnerships, and advocating for children and families.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to convey the mission, lead development efforts, and maintain donor relationships.
- Financial and Fundraising Acumen: Knowledge of budget management, nonprofit best practices, and fundraising strategies to sustain and grow organizational resources.
- Program Development: Expertise in implementing and evaluating educational and advocacy programs that align with the organization’s goals.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; advanced degree preferred. Understanding of special education, family engagement, or nonprofit management is highly desirable.
- Passion and Commitment: A deep commitment to the mission of empowering parents and improving educational outcomes for children, particularly those with special needs.
