We are seeking a Senior Plant Accountant with strong manufacturing cost accounting experience to support plant operations, inventory accuracy, and financial reporting. This role is ideal for an accountant who understands the connection between the plant floor and the general ledger, and who has hands-on experience with standard costing, inventory controls, variance analysis, and cycle counting.
This position will partner closely with operations, supply chain, and leadership to improve inventory accuracy, analyze manufacturing performance, and support sound financial decision-making.
What You’ll Do
- Own plant accounting activities related to inventory, cost accounting, and month-end close
- Prepare and analyze manufacturing cost reports, including labor, material, and overhead
- Monitor and explain purchase price, usage, labor, and production variances
- Support and help lead the cycle count program, including reconciliation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Partner with operations to improve inventory accuracy, controls, and reporting
- Reconcile inventory and manufacturing accounts and ensure alignment between physical inventory and ERP records
- Assist with standard cost updates, cost rolls, and BOM/routing review
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for plant-related accounts
- Participate in physical inventories and audit support as needed
- Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls and improve plant finance processes
- Provide financial insight to plant leadership regarding performance, waste, efficiency, and cost drivers
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years of accounting experience with at least 3 years in manufacturing and cost accounting
- Strong experience in plant accounting, inventory accounting, and cost accounting
- Required: hands-on cycle counting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with:
- standard costing

- variance analysis

- physical inventory
- Ability to work cross-functionally with plant operations and supply chain teams
- Strong Excel skills and experience working in an ERP system
- High attention to detail with a process-improvement mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CMA is a plus
- Experience in a multi-site or high-volume manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting audits and internal controls
- Familiarity with BOMs, routings, and inventory movement within an ERP
