Basic Function
Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the building and grounds by performing various cleaning duties.
Responsibilities
Building Maintenance
- Clean and disinfect restroom sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, floors, etc.
- Replenish bathroom supplies. Polish metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
- Clean and disinfect lunchroom sinks, countertops, tables, chairs, refrigerators, etc.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors. Occasional scrubbing, waxing, and polishing of floors.
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles and transport waste to the disposal area.
- Clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture, using a vacuum cleaner (hip or backpack).
- Report any maintenance requirements such as light bulb replacements, leaking wash basins, etc. to the supervisor.
- Comply with all instructions relating to the use and storage of materials/equipment necessary for the performance of tasks.
- Replenish break room supplies and replenish copier paper.
- Wash walls and woodwork, windows, door panels, partitions, sills, etc.
- Dust furniture, equipment, partitions, etc.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Understanding of and commitment to the independent living philosophy.
- Report any incident or accident to the supervisor.
- Other related duties as assigned by the Maintenance/Security Coordinator.
- Complete all mandatory training per fiscal year.
- High Level of Organization Attention to Detail
- Time Management Team Player Excellent Oral Communication
- Ability to Work Independently
- Ability to team lift 25 pounds
- Basic knowledge of cleaning
- products and equipment
- High school degree or equivalent
- One year of related work experience.
