We are looking for experienced Tape Edge Machine Operators who understands that quality matters!
Paramount Sleep is a third-generation, family-owned luxury mattress manufacturer located in Norfolk, VA since 1935, focused on teamwork, and offering competitive salary and benefits, and temperature-controlled workspaces. We are advertising this position through out the east coast, looking for candidates willing to relocate to the Norfolk/Virginia Beach Area.
We produce some of the most beautiful luxury mattresses for the best and most successful retailers and boutique hotels across the United States.

4-day work schedule Tuesday thru Friday 6:00am - 4:45pm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes the following, however, other duties may apply.)
- Ensures proper fabric tape is used per label description.
- Operates leg-clutch to stop and start sewing machine.
- Feeds materials into sewing machine as the tape edge machine is pulled around mattress. Re-threads machine as needed.
- Ensures quality standards are maintained.
- Corrects any defective taping on mattresses.
- Lifts or slides finished mattress onto take away conveyor.
- Changes the needle and binding tape for the machine as needed.
- Maintains clean work area and follows proper safety procedures. Sweeps floors as needed.
- Makes any necessary machine adjustments and handles basic maintenance of machine such as lubrication.
- Provide assistance to other Tape Edge Operators and areas of mattress building as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- 1 year of Tape Edge Machine Operator Experience
- Good eye/hand coordination
- With assistance must be able to lift, push, or carry mattresses weighing 50 - 100 lbs.
- Ability to interpret and support standards, policies and procedures established by Paramount and Federal/State/Local agencies
