Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Operator to join our team. As a key member of our production department, you will be responsible for operating extruders to form thermoplastic Polypropylene, PVC & Polyethylene sheets.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of different materials and products to run product properly.
- Read and understand orders.
- Set up and run orders.
- Apply general mechanical knowledge of extruder and downstream equipment.
- Change gauges, speeds and coordinate changeovers in a fast-paced environment.
- Use micrometers, calipers and other quality tools to adjust dies and process accordingly.
- Take machine apart as instructed for cleaning, replacing parts and changeovers without causing damage.
- Keep accurate records of production performance and quality documentation.
- Packaging all finished products securely for shipping.
- Trimming to clean all finished sheets.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively with co-workers and departments.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- With minimal supervision, demonstrate the ability to solve practical problems, interpret, resolving problems and issues using a variety of instructions or guides furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
