The Activities Assistant will work under the direction of the Activities Director in planning, scheduling, and conducting social activities with our residents. Such events including outings, games, and exercises. The Activities Assistant will oversee the activity and ensure that residents participate safely.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The employee must be able to perform these essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation by the employer, without posing a direct threat to themselves or to others. (This list may not include all of the duties – this position will be responsible for other duties as assigned.)
- Assist in planning, developing, organizing, and implement the activities program.
- Meet with the Activities Manager for planning activities.
- Develop and maintain good working rapport with other departments within the facility and network with outside community agencies.
- Assist in the development of, and participation in, regularly scheduled in-service training programs.
- Assist in the arrangement and escort of residents with field trips whenever necessary.
- Assist in the recording and maintaining records of resident’s participation in activities.
- Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all pertinent resident care information to assure residents rights are protected.
- Report any changes in the resident’s condition immediately to the Resident Care Department.
- Report all incidents/accidents immediately.
- Assist in the scheduling of outside activities and groups for the residents.
- Recommend to the Activities/Recreation Manager the equipment and supply needs of the department.
- Other duties as assigned.
