Position Summary
We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to support day-to-day clinical laboratory operations. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or a professional with 1–2 years of laboratory experience who is looking to gain hands-on experience in a high-quality diagnostic laboratory setting.
Under the supervision of qualified laboratory personnel, the Laboratory Technician will assist with specimen processing, basic testing, quality control, and general lab operations while adhering to CLIA, CAP, and laboratory safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, log, and process patient specimens (blood, urine, swabs, etc.)
- Prepare specimens for analysis following established SOPs
- Perform routine laboratory tests as authorized and trained
- Assist with reagent preparation, equipment setup, and maintenance
- Run and document quality control (QC) procedures
- Accurately record test results and laboratory data in the LIS
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment
- Follow all safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines
- Support lab supervisors and technologists with daily operational needs
- Participate in training and competency assessments
QualificationsRequired
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in:
- Medical Laboratory Technology
- Clinical Laboratory Science
- Biology, Chemistry, or related life science field
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow written procedures and protocols
- Basic computer skills (LIS experience a plus)
- Willingness to learn and work in a regulated clinical environment
Preferred (Not Required)
- 0–2 years of experience in a clinical or reference laboratory
- Internship or clinical rotation experience
- Familiarity with CLIA regulations or laboratory QA/QC practices
Work Schedule
- Day shift (weekday availability required)
- Occasional flexibility based on workload
