What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Professional Shipping/Receiving position at Parallel Ag?
Parallel Ag is looking to add a highly-motivated Seasonal Parts Shipping / Receiving Professional to join our team!
The Shipping and Receiving Professional will be greeting customers and helping them receive the agriculture parts that they need to keep their equipment going. Their purpose is to continue learning the business and gain the knowledge and experience necessary to work within the framework of the Parallel Ag business model.
Summary:
Performs a variety of shipping and receiving requirements: receives and unloads freight manually or with a forklift and pallet jacks; checks for damaged goods; verifies quantity and quality of order; verifies items received with purchase order; wraps, packages, and ships orders.
Responsibilities:
- Unpacks, operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
- Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit from customers.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies and reports needed items to the Purchasing Manager.
- Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
- Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
- Responsible for making arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order, which is conveyed on invoice or determined by proper shipping vendor.
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Pull parts for sale/transfer to Parallel Ag locations
- Prepare shipping documents and mailing labels.
- Back-up to Parts Counter Professional.
Qualifications:
- Highly developed sense of organization and attention to detail
- Certified to operate forklifts and hand trucks
- Ability to use technology
- Understanding of basic shipping and receiving guidelines
- Ability to effectively listen
- Interpret customer needs
- Proficient computer skills

Physical Demands:
- Requires the use of both hands to lift up to 80lbs
- Ability to climb stairs to stock parts and pull parts for orders
