Overview
We are seeking a seeking an urban planning assistant to help oversee development projects in New Jersey.
Primary Responsibilities:
o Work on multiple residential and mixed-use projects.
o Urban Planning
- Develops land use plans and policies for urban development.
- Conducts site assessments and community consultations.
- Prepares zoning and planning documents.
o Due Diligence team support:
- Conduct comprehensive land use analysis and due diligence to assess project feasibility and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with legal, environmental, and engineering consultants to evaluate site constraints and opportunities.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and obstacles related to land acquisition, entitlements, and development.
o Project Planning and Management support
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Manage the work and schedule of the various land development and design team including, geotechnical, environmental, traffic and site engineers, planners, and architects.
- Establish and maintain project schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines and milestones.
- Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing any deviation or change
o Entitlements and Permitting Support
- Assist in the entitlement process, including zoning, planning approvals, and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and submit land use approval applications, ensuring timely review and approval by relevant authorities.
- Coordinate with government agencies, community stakeholders, and project teams to address concerns and secure necessary approvals.
Experience
- Degree in, engineering, architectural, construction management, real estate or similar program preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in residential land development, and strong knowledge and understanding of New Jersey Land development process
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Computer literacy, including word-processing, spreadsheet analysis, project scheduling and data management software
- Must be detail-oriented and a problem-solver able to deal with complex situations
- A strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. Must take initiative, be resourceful, prioritize and perform within a team environment while maintaining focus and multitasking in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
