Paragon IT Professionals is seeking multiple Sr. Software Engineers for contract to hire roles with our premier client in Chicago, IL. These are hybrid roles and must be willing to go onsite 2-3 days a week.
Contract length - 12 months, then conversion to full time
Top 3 skills needed - Java, Spring Boot, AWS
Design, develop, test, and support enterprise software applications and systems. Lead technical design and development efforts throughout the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable software applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and AWS Cloud technologies.
- Create technical designs, specifications, and documentation based on business requirements.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications and deployment processes.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to secure coding and development standards.
- Develop and maintain automated tests and support QA activities, including functional, regression, and integration testing.
- Support production and UAT environments, resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate within Agile teams to deliver high-quality solutions and accurate project estimates.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices and technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of software development experience.
- Strong programming experience in Java (preferred), C#, C , or Objective-C.
- Experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL/PL-SQL, and relational databases.
- Experience with AWS Cloud and source control systems.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments, scripting, and automated deployment processes.
- Understanding of object-oriented design, distributed systems, web services, and Agile methodologies.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
