What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Lead Technician (Day Shift M-F) position at Paradise Tomato Kitchen?
SUMMARY:
This position will plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities of the Maintenance Department. Responsible for day-to-day operations of the maintenance area and plant equipment.
The Maintenance Lead oversees the maintenance and repair of equipment, buildings, and facilities. Manages to assign tasks to and leads the maintenance staff, ensuring that jobs are completed promptly and safely and that facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standards.
It is expected for the Maintenance Lead to work in direct partnership with the Operations Shift Supervisor and Quality Technician to support food/worker safety, sanitation, quality, and efficiency (SSQE).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical directions and maintenance leadership.
- Lead a team of maintenance staff, assign tasks to them, and help diagnose malfunctions.
- Determine schedules and assignments for work activities, based on work priority through our CMMS (eMaint.)
- Respond to emergency calls and take appropriate actions.
- Performs preventative maintenance checks as an audit step for mechanics. Record all data as assigned.
- Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
- Applies best practice procedures utilized in electrical maintenance.
- Support preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
- Support plant environmental safety programs to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations.
- Using other maintenance disciplines in the development and application of root-cause analysis and troubleshooting of equipment and processes.
- Must follow all GMPs, SOPs and maintain a current understanding of the regulations and requirements of the industry and applicable government agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience with PLC troubleshooting, HVAC skills, fabricating, TIG, and MIG welding
- Demonstrated knowledge of motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, programmable controllers, and motor control electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with others orally or in writing
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures
- Ability to organize and direct oneself and effectively lead others
