Duties
- Safely operate buses for senior care following designated routes and schedules
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and mechanical readiness
- Communicate clearly with passengers using effective language skills; assist with boarding, seating arrangements, and behavior management as needed
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, passenger counts, and any incidents during shifts
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger questions, ensuring comfort, and fostering a positive experience
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations diligently to prevent accidents or violations
- Collaborate with dispatchers and team members to coordinate routes efficiently and handle any unforeseen issues promptly
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in bus driving or commercial driving preferred
- Knowledge of traffic laws, safety procedures, and vehicle maintenance basics (mechanical knowledge)
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities
- Experience working with seniors, or individuals requiring special assistance (paratransit or senior care experience)
- Ability to manage behavior effectively and maintain patience in challenging situations
- Demonstrated reliability with excellent attendance and punctuality
- Basic writing skills for completing reports and logs accurately
