Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist / Insurance Authorization Specialist to join our home health team. This role is responsible for welcoming patients and visitors while ensuring insurance eligibility is verified, and authorizations are obtained prior to services. This position plays a key role in supporting patient care, ensuring accurate insurance verification, and securing timely reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Greet patients, caregivers, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
- Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and assist with general inquiries
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage for home health services
- Obtain prior authorizations as required by insurance providers
- Track and follow up on pending authorizations to prevent delays in care
- Communicate patient financial responsibility clearly and respectfully
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 13 years of experience in a medical office, home health, or insurance verification role preferred
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans
- Experience with prior authorizations and insurance portals
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fastpaced healthcare environment
Salary: $18-$20 per hour
