Machinist Helper

Job Summary:

 The Machinist Helper supports machinists and production staff in the operation of aluminum CNC machines and other shop equipment. This role involves assisting with setup, material handling, tool usage, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist machinists in operating and maintaining aluminum CNC machines
• Load and unload materials, parts, and tools as needed
• Operate pneumatic bandsaws, rivet guns, and other shop equipment under supervision
• Use hand tools and power tools to support fabrication and assembly processes
• Measure and inspect parts to ensure they meet specifications
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
• Perform routine maintenance tasks and report equipment issues
• Support general shop operations and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machining processes
• Experience with hand tools and power tools is a plus
• Ability to read basic measurements (tape measure, calipers preferred)
• Basic aluminum welding experience is a plus
• Forklift certification/license is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
• Standing, bending, and moving for extended periods
• Comfortable working around machinery and in a shop environment

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing/shop setting with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and metal materials
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection

Pay and Benefits:

• $18.00/hour
