Paradigm, Inc. is seeking qualified behavioral health professionals to provide Outpatient Competency Restoration Services to justice-involved individuals in select counties (Douglas/Sarpy/Lancaster). This independent contractor opportunity is ideal for clinicians who are passionate about helping justice-involved individuals achieve competency and successfully participate in legal proceedings.

As a contractor with Paradigm, you will work collaboratively with DHHS, community partners, and behavioral health providers while delivering competency restoration services.

Paradigm, Inc. provides behavioral health and community-based services throughout Nebraska.

· Services provided in the home, community settings, and/or via approved telehealth platforms per contract allowance

Job Summary

The Outpatient Competency Restoration Provider delivers educational, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services to individuals determined by the court to be incompetent to stand trial. The provider assists individuals in developing a factual and rational understanding of legal proceedings and overcoming barriers to restoration.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct competency restoration intake assessments and ongoing progress reports.
• Provide competency restoration education regarding court processes, legal rights, courtroom expectations, and participation in legal proceedings.
• Develop individualized competency restoration plans.
• Utilize evidence-based practices and psychoeducational interventions.
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and restoration records in accordance with state and HIPAA requirements.
• Participate in staffing meetings and collaborate with community and behavioral health professionals.
• Coordinate care with community providers and support systems.
• Attend required trainings and maintain competency in restoration practices and forensic behavioral health services.

Qualifications and Requirements

· Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or a related field

· Licensed in the State of Nebraska (PLMHP or higher).

· Experience working with adults experiencing serious mental illness, co-occurring disorders, or justice-involved populations.

· Knowledge of behavioral health treatment, recovery principles, and community-based services.

· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

· Ability to work flexible hours to meet client needs.

· Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

· Strong organizational and documentation skills.

· Proficiency with electronic documentation systems and virtual communication platforms.

· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience providing competency restoration services.

· Knowledge of Nebraska court systems.
