What We’re Looking For
- 1–3 years of underwriting experience in the Merchant Services/Acquiring industry.
- Capable of making quick, sound decisions with the ability to justify recommendations.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment both individually and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to prioritize workflow, manage multiple tasks, and remain organized.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
- Conduct due diligence reviews of business applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Validate documents provided with new applications using online publications and internal resources.
- Review and analyze credit reports, financial statements, balance sheets, and tax returns.
- Prepare written summaries based on the analysis of applicant/customer information, aligned with department procedures.
- Apply appropriate underwriting criteria to applications in line with published credit policy to mitigate financial exposure.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve issues using available resources.
- Review merchant applications to confirm all necessary information is present, both in paperwork and on websites.
- Collaborate with the Merchant Services Director to recommend account approvals or denials.
- Assist in completing weekly and monthly reports for the Underwriting department.
- Support audits of completed files.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
