Duties
- Prepare authentic pizza dough from scratch, ensuring proper texture and consistency for high-volume production
- Select and prepare fresh ingredients, including vegetables, meats, cheeses, and sauces, adhering to recipe standards and food safety protocols
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools efficiently and safely
- Assemble pizzas with precision, following specific recipes and presentation standards for quality assurance
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations by following food safety sanitizing procedures throughout the shift
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure perfect crusts and toppings every time
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new pizza varieties or ingredient combinations based on customer preferences and industry trends
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a pizza maker or in a similar food preparation role within a high-volume restaurant or pizzeria environment
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food handling techniques required for ingredient prep and portioning
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures to maintain a safe kitchen environment
- Experience with food production processes such as braising, poaching (culinary technique involving gentle cooking in liquid), grilling, and meal preparation
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Previous experience working with dietary departments or catering services is a plus
