What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shift Foreman position at Panther Creek Mining?
Duties/Responsibilities:
Manages a single shift of coal production, organizing and scheduling duties of foreman relative to production, maintenance, safety, federal, state and company rules and regulations.
Supervise the clean-up and recovery operations should roof falls or other conditions interfere with normal production.
Conduct regular scheduled safety meetings with crew.
Maintain a professional working atmosphere by following sound employee relations procedures.
Maintain all standard operating procedures, including all mining activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Through knowledge of underground mining practices, equipment and procedures, State and Federal mine laws, as well as company policy.
Knowledge and ability to make decisions relative to production, maintenance, law and safety.
Organizational and communication skills.
Ability to supervise and motivate employees.
Education and/or Training:
State Mine Foreman/Fireboss certification.
Minimum of three years underground experience.
Emergency Medical Technician for mining preferred.
