Details of Apprenticeship
Pantex has openings for apprentices in the tool maker craft. Apprentices shall be paid a progressively increasing schedule of wages based on either a percentage or a dollar amount of the current hourly journeyworker wage rate of $49.78.
1st 0-1000 hours = 65% 5th 4000-5000 hours = 79%
2nd 1000-2000 hours = 68.5% 6th 5000-6000 hours = 83%
3rd 2000-3000 hours = 72% 7th 6000-7000 hours = 86%
4th 3000-4000 hours = 75.5% 8th 7000-8000 hours = 90%
2nd 1000-2000 hours = 68.5% 6th 5000-6000 hours = 83%
3rd 2000-3000 hours = 72% 7th 6000-7000 hours = 86%
4th 3000-4000 hours = 75.5% 8th 7000-8000 hours = 90%
Qualifications for Apprenticeship
- Age: 18 years of age.
- Education: A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.\
- Physical: Applicant must be physically capable of performing the essential job tasks of the Apprenticeship Program, with or without a reasonable accommodation, and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others. Applicants will be given a physical and screened for the current illegal use of drugs on acceptance into the program, prior to being employed. After employment, Apprentices will be subject to being randomly selected for drug testing without advance notification.
- Aptitude Test/Entry Exam: Applicant must pass the selected aptitude test/entry exam given by the employer or approved testing facilitator. Applicant will be responsible for the cost of the test.
- Legal Residence: Applicant must be able to prove citizenship of the United States.
- Security: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-Level security clearance and Human Reliability Program (HRP) certification.
- Applicant must have a valid Driver’s License.
