What You'll Do
- Directly supervise and coordinate activities of Area Mechanic craft workers
- Must complete Pre-Job Briefings for all self-performed work
- Manage personnel and equipment resources for work
- Review and approve time records for direct reports
- Required to provide management and oversight of maintenance activities for the organization
- Must be able to effectively and efficiently communicate verbally and in written form
- Specific tasks include management and oversight of:
- Union craft pool
- Schedule and assign jobs, working with planning and scheduling departments
- Ensure the safe execution of work in the crafts group while meeting work schedules, quality standards, and adherence to department budget.
- Extensive knowledge of fall protection and general Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) equipment
- Waste removal and tracking
- Provide technical guidance to the site, and resolve critical site issues
- Knowledge of hazards associated with electrical work
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Department of Energy (DOE) Order 426.2A Requirements
In addition to the above requirements, the applicant must also meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., High School diploma and 3 years nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2A alternative). DOE O 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref. DOE O 426.2A)
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Applicants without a Bachelor's Degree may be considered based on a combination of 13 years of completed education and/or relevant experience
Preferred Job Requirements
- Executing corrective, predictive and preventive maintenance associated with Pantex Facilities
- Working effectively with other team members
- Completing written record of work performed
