What You'll Do
You will join our team as a core member, growing into a subject matter expert who designs, analyzes, and delivers high-quality data essential for our critical mission deliverables. In this role, you will lead problem-solving efforts to enhance quality and reduce costs, serving as a primary technical contact for the Explosives Technology (ExT) organization. Your responsibilities will include interpreting design requirements, authoring technical specifications, and ensuring all testing activities adhere to our Integrated Safety Management (ISM) principles. You will also keep leadership informed of project progress through clear communication and scheduled updates. Additionally, you may serve as a temporary supervisor to lead daily stand-ups and stand-downs, attend staff meetings, and represent the team in other scheduled meetings, ensuring continuous operational flow and communication.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience. (Typical experience ranging from 7 to 10 years.)
- OR Master’s Degree with: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience. (Typical experience ranging from 7 to 10 years.)
- NOTE: Applicants without a Bachelor's Degree may be considered based on a combination of 12 or more years of completed education and/or relevant experience.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering/science with a minimum of four years of relevant experience.
- OR an associate degree in a technical field or a relevant technical certification plus a minimum of eight years of directly related experience in destructive/non-destructive testing, diagnostics, or a comparable technical role.
- OR a high school diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of twelve years of exceptional, directly-related experience in destructive/non-destructive testing, diagnostics, or a comparable technical role.
- Engages with internal and external stakeholders on complex technical matters, taking a lead role in efforts that often require interorganizational coordination.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to effectively recommend and articulate solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive design reviews, develop clear design criteria, and review technical procedures for advanced test equipment.
- Working knowledge of modeling software Creo, Finite Element Analysis software, MATLAB, machining, construction, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
- Experience with Photonic Doppler Velocimetry (PDV), including the set-up, execution, and analysis of data for high-speed phenomena.
- Proficiency in high-speed photography and imaging techniques, with particular expertise in streak camera operation, data acquisition, and subsequent analysis.
- Demonstrated experience as an integral member of project teams, actively contributing to technical deliverables and successful project completion.
- Experience in scheduling, tracking, and prioritizing work initiatives, including familiarity with scheduling tools.
- Understanding of the ExT integrated schedule for prioritizing and tracking critical mission deliverables and resource allocation.
- Ability to assist in determining equipment, man-hours, and funds needed for proposed projects.
- A track record of conducting independent research and development with minimal direction.
- Experience in mentoring and training junior technicians, including the development and delivery of technical classes and instructional materials.
- Proficient in the use of computers, including Microsoft suite applications, with experience in networking and programming.
