Experienced Dementia Caregiver – Overnight (Awake Shift)
$20/hr- $21/hr | 8PM–8AM | Private Home Setting
This is an awake overnight position.
Sleeping is not permitted.
We are seeking emotionally mature, highly observant Memory Care Partners who understand that overnight dementia care requires vigilance, documentation, and calm responsiveness — not passive presence.
If you are looking for a quiet shift to rest, this is not the role.
Memory Care Partners don’t just “sit with someone.” You’re nights includes 3 things:
- Core care & safety
- Overnight Engagement and support
- Support for the family - Memory Care Partners also help reduce stress for the family by:
- Keeping the home organized
- Observing changes in behavior or condition
- Documenting what happened during the shift
- Communicating important updates to the care team
So the night is usually a mix of care, conversation, or support with nighttime routines, depending on the person’s needs and energy that night.
No two nights look exactly the same. Every night is a little different, but the goal is simple: care, connection, and helping the person stay part of daily life.
You must treat caregiving as a profession — not a favor.
What This Role Actually Requires
You will:
- Remain awake and alert for the entire shift Monitor safety continuously Assist with toileting, incontinence care, repositioning Reposition clients every 2–3 hours when required Document care and condition every 2 hours (required) Observe and report breathing changes, agitation, wandering, or decline Respond calmly if a client wakes confused or distressed Prepare light morning setup if needed
Overnight care is safety-focused and detail-driven.
The Clients You Will Support
Our clients may:
- Wake disoriented or frightened Attempt to wander Experience hallucinations Become restless or agitated Be in late-stage or end-of-life decline Require repositioning and skin monitoring
You must remain regulated and calm in low-light, high-responsibility environments.

We hire Memory Care Partners who:
- Can stay awake and attentive for 12 hours Do not cut corners on documentation Understand that small changes at night matter Communicate immediately if something feels “off” Accept feedback without defensiveness Maintain professional appearance and hygiene Respect the client’s home environment
This role requires emotional control and high accountability.
Documentation & Standards
- Notes entered every 2 hours — no exceptions Immediate reporting of red flags Adherence to stage-based overnight protocols No sleeping No extended phone use No disengagement
Standards are enforced.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years professional caregiving experience Minimum 2 years dementia experience Ability to remain awake and alert for full shift Reliable transportation Strong communication skills
Formal education is not the deciding factor.Professional behavior is.
Schedule
- 8PM–8AM Consistent schedule Every Other Weekend commitment required
