Job Overview
The Panorama Village Police Department located in Montgomery County Texas is accepting applications for the position of FULL TIME Patrol Officer.
No Reserve Officer applications will be received at this time.
Applicant must already be TCOLE certified (With at least a Basic Peace Officer License) and will be subject to TCOLE hiring/licensing requirements. 2 years patrol experience preferred but not required.
TMRS Member, with 2 to 1 match retirement. Certificate pay for Intermediate, Advanced and Master Certificates. Starting pay is 66,227. Paid Medical/Dental. 2 Weeks Vac after 1st year.
Patrol shifts are rotating, every Officer has 2 weekends off a month. Facial hair/Tattoo relaxed policy.
All applicants will undergo a background check, physical and psychological exam and meet with the Chief of Police/Admin Staff prior to hire date. Applicants must be physically fit and able to move as the job requires.

Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity.
- Respond promptly to calls for service and emergencies.
- Conduct thorough investigations of incidents, accidents, and crimes.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation related to incidents and arrests.
- Enforce traffic laws and regulations, conducting traffic stops as necessary.
- Engage with the community through outreach programs to foster trust and cooperation between the police department and residents.
- Testify in court as needed regarding investigations or arrests made.
- Handle animals in distress or involved in incidents, ensuring proper care and safety.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of criminal law, criminal investigation procedures, search and seizure law, evidence law, and criminal procedure.
- Proficiency in report writing with clear documentation of incidents and investigations.
- Ability to operate standard passenger cars safely under various conditions; familiarity with driving laws is essential.
- Experience with firearms handling in law enforcement settings along with use of force training to ensure safe application of force when necessary.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, local ordinances, immigration law as applicable, and loss prevention techniques.
- Physical conditioning to meet the demands of patrol duties including endurance for long shifts and physical confrontations if needed.
- Skills in conflict management, first aid protocols (including CPR), and first aid response to assist injured persons or stabilize situations until further help arrives.
- Ability to utilize surveillance equipment effectively for monitoring activities or gathering evidence.
- Experience or background in military service or security operations is advantageous; animal handling skills may also be beneficial for specific community interactions.
