Bookkeeper / Accountant

We are a small boutique bookkeeping firm primarily based in the Phoenix, Arizona area and we are looking for a top notch bookkeeper to help with our growing business. We are different from the typical firm; we are very hands on with our established clientele and provide a level of customer service that is often times missing from this industry. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for an introductory accounting role.

Day to day tasks will constantly evolve. You will be expected to shift gears when needed, multi-task, learn quickly, and act as a professional representative of the firm. You need to demonstrate a high level of organization, be a self-starter, and able to work with minimal supervision. You must have a great attitude and be knowledgeable when talking to clients.

Reliability, responsiveness, honesty, accuracy, and attention to detail are absolutely critical in this role. The right person will have the drive and attitude to provide value to the firm.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Bookkeeping
• Payroll processing
• Month-end, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Sales tax returns
• Able to research discrepancies and identify and solve problems
• Daily email and phone interaction with external customers and contacts
• Handling of confidential information
• Miscellaneous special projects

Job requirements:

• 1-3 years minimum accounting/bookkeeping experience PREFERRED
• 1-3 years minimum QuickBooks Online and/or Desktop experience PREFERRED
• Payroll processing experience preferred
• Excellent computer skills; you should be a whiz with Excel
• ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND ABILITY TO MEET DEADLINES IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently with limited supervision
• Strong administrative organization skills
• Hardworking, dependable, self-motivated, and responsible
• Great communication and social skills are a must!

Although this is an casual and friendly atmosphere, you are expected to be professional, both in communications and in appearance. Honesty and trustworthiness are critical characteristics in this role. You will be required to pass a background check.
