Responsibilities
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
- Source and purchase goods and services needed to support company operations.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, freight costs, delivery timelines, and contract terms with suppliers.
- Conduct detailed supplier price comparisons to ensure the company receives the best overall value.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through negotiation, supplier consolidation, competitive bidding, and process improvements.
- Review quotes, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, and supplier documentation for accuracy.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring supplier performance, pricing, quality, and delivery.
- Use purchasing data, market research, and historical spend information to support buying decisions.
- Utilize AI tools, Excel, reporting systems, and procurement technology to analyze spend, compare pricing, identify trends, and improve efficiency.
- Partner with internal departments to understand purchasing needs and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Support supplier onboarding by collecting required documentation such as W-9s, insurance certificates, compliance forms, and other required records.
- Track cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement activity for leadership reporting. Document results in PowerPoint presentations and effectively communicate the results to management and colleagues.
- Ensure all procurement activities follow company policies, approval processes, and audit requirements.
- Bachelor's degree required in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Operations Management, Accounting or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, supply chain or related business operations.
- Strong negotiation, supplier management, and communication skills.
- Experience conducting price comparisons, reviewing supplier quotes, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Strong understanding of purchase orders, invoices, payment terms, supplier documentation, and procurement processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and PowerBI.
- Understanding of AI tools and how they can be used to support procurement analysis, reporting, and process improvement.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, suppliers and internal requests.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite of Products, SAP, Concur, Power BI, or similar procurement/reporting systems.
- Experience supporting multi-location procurement operations.
- Knowledge of contract review, supplier compliance, and cost analysis.
