Responsibilities
- Assist groomers with bathing, drying, brushing, and coat styling of dogs and other small animals
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and security
- Perform pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and basic grooming tasks under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming stations, tools, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet care needs and grooming preferences
- Support in kennel cleaning, animal restraint, and pet sitting duties as needed
- Assist with heavy lifting of animals or equipment to ensure safety for both staff and pets
Experience
- Prior experience in dog handling or animal care is highly preferred
- Knowledge of pet coat styling, pet grooming techniques, and animal restraint methods
- Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is a strong plus
- Familiarity with pet care routines such as nail trimming, bathing, and coat maintenance
- Experience working with animals in kennels or pet sitting environments is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners and team members
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking
