Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, brushing, hair trimming, pet coat styling, nail trimming, and ear cleaning to meet each pet’s specific needs.
- Handle dogs safely using animal restraint techniques and ensure proper animal handling throughout all grooming procedures.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences, provide advice on pet coat maintenance, and discuss any health concerns observed during grooming.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary grooming environment by disinfecting tools, tubs, and work areas regularly.
- Manage kennel or holding areas efficiently, ensuring pets are comfortable and secure before and after grooming.
Experience
- Prior experience in pet grooming is required , with a strong emphasis on dog handling and pet coat styling skills.
- Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and safe handling practices for various breeds and sizes of dogs.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners about grooming needs and animal care instructions.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move pets or equipment safely.
