Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem

We are seeking experienced Respiratory Therapists to join our Cardiopulmonary Department. 

Location: Blythe, California
Position Type: Per-Diem
Shift Availability: Variable (Days/Nights/Weekends)

Examples of Responsibilities:

The Respiratory Therapist plays a crucial role in the provision of care for inpatients and outpatients of all ages, addressing the needs of patients with respiratory conditions and cardiac disorders.

· Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders.

· Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans based on patient needs and medical history.

· Perform diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis.

· Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including aerosol medications, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation.

· Monitor and adjust ventilator settings to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

· Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and proper use of respiratory equipment.

· Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and comprehensive patient care.

· Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.

· Stay current with advancements in respiratory therapy and participate in ongoing professional development.

Requirements/Qualifications:

· Current and valid licensure in the state of California as a Respiratory Care Therapist/Practitioner required.

· Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.

· Minimum of two years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, preferably in a rural or community hospital setting.

· Current, NRP, PALS, BLS and ACLS Certifications required.

· Graduate of an AMA – approved school.
