JOB PURPOSE |
This position is responsible for maintaining the grounds and outer appearance of all JJE’s buildings and affiliate properties as requested. Supervise and performs groundskeeping, landscaping, and maintenance duties on all assigned grounds, properties, parking lots, and roadway areas.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Ensures all safety procedures and policies are followed on the site at all times
- Inspects and reviews work in assigned areas to ensure that cleanliness, efficiency, safety standards, and completion is met.
- Trains staff in the proper use of cleaning equipment, chemicals, equipment use, methodology and techniques.
- Checks for and reports any repairs needed in assigned work areas.
- Cuts lawns, Trims edges around walks, flowerbeds, and walls, including unimproved areas. Must be able to operate mowers, weed eaters, edgers, blowers, rototillers, blade, bucket, utility vehicle, lot vacuum, trailers and additional equipment pertaining to groundskeeping.
- Must be able to repair minor irrigation systems issues (learn more complex systems)
- Scheduled preventive maintenance on lawn care equipment
- Ability to maintain grounds by trimming, de-weeding and general clean-up
- Must perform planting, mulching, and edging of lawns
- Remove weeds and debris from pathways and flower beds
- Trim hedges, bushes, and shrubs as needed or on a monthly cycle
- Ensure that all work areas and equipment are free of obstructions and debris
- Must have high awareness and strong commitment to professionalism and safety
- Remove and dispose of debris from work sites and keep areas and equipment well- organized
- Be accountable and responsible for the proper use and care of company equipment
- All other duties, as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS |
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Dependability, Detail- & Deadline-Oriented, Time Management Skills, Safety Awareness

Preferred Qualifications:
- Functional knowledge of various commercial lawn care equipment
- Edger
- Hedge trimmers
- Pole trimmers
- Chain saw
- Brush cutter
- Grass trimmers
- Ability to train all employees to safely operate a commercial zero turn mowers and all other powered equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS |
The job requires a person to work in conditions that include extreme heat and cold; a high noise level, which may, at times, require normal hearing protection in the form of ear plugs; heights; and dealing with chemicals. Hours may vary based on business needs, including working regular shifts as outlined and/or occasional weekends, or overtime, if needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS |
Team members are constantly standing, walking, carrying, pulling/pushing, bending, seeing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, hearing, as well as operating machinery. Team members will be lifting/maneuvering objects weighing 50 lbs. or less regularly.
