Position Summary
The Smart Home Field Technician supports our installation team by performing residential pre-wire installations, television mounting, structured cabling, and basic smart home installations.
This position focuses on producing clean, organized work while learning the technologies and installation methods that make up modern smart homes.
Responsibilities
- Install CAT6, speaker wire, coaxial cable, fiber, and low-voltage wiring
- Assist with residential and commercial pre-wire projects
- Mount televisions and install TV back boxes
- Install in-wall and in-ceiling speakers
- Install security cameras and video doorbells
- Install basic networking equipment including routers and Wi-Fi access points
- Label and organize wiring
- Maintain clean job sites
- Work safely on ladders and in attics and crawl spaces
- Assist senior technicians during system installations
- Follow company installation standards
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–3 years construction or low-voltage experience
- Experience pulling wire
- Comfortable using power tools
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to learn quickly
- Valid driver's license
- Positive attitude
Experience with TV mounting, structured wiring, networking, or security systems is a plus but not required.
Compensation
$24–30/hour, depending on experience.
