What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Estimator position at Palmetto Residential Electric LLC?

- Collect and review home floor plans from builders and electrical blueprints for upcoming projects
- Perform detailed material takeoffs based on construction drawings and specifications
- Prepare initial job pricing estimates within standard gross profit margin guidelines
- Work closely with the Senior Project Estimator to review estimates and confirm accuracy
- Maintain and update estimating spreadsheets, pricing templates, and cost databases
- Communicate with construction managers, sales, and other internal team members to clarify plans and scope of work
- Identify missing information or potential cost risks during the estimating process
- Assist in developing and improving estimating procedures and workflows
- Leverage new technology, software, and automation tools to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Support the CFO with reporting, cost analysis, and special projects as needed
Essential Requirements:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the above-listed duties, tasks, and functions.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an electrician or in the electrical field
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and electrical plans
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers accurately
- Ability to follow standard pricing models and gross profit targets
- Willingness to create new processes and improve existing workflows
- Comfortable learning new software, systems, and technology tools
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with estimating, accounting, and operations teams
Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
