Box Truck Driver - FT - N. Charleston

Summary
Responsible for the pick‐up and delivery of donated items from households (tickets), attended donation
centers (ADC), and retail stores.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Operate truck in safe manner abiding by all applicable State and local transportation rules and
regulations.
· Perform daily pre‐trip inspections on vehicle prior to starting route. Maintain daily log of scheduled
stops.
· Maintain constant communication with Dispatcher via telephone.
· Load and unload vehicle in manner to safeguard donated items from breakage.
· Keep vehicle clean inside and out.
· Haul trash and scrap metal as authorized.
· Return salvage to centralized warehouse.
· Perform daily post‐trip inspections on vehicle and notify the Transportation Manager of any concerns.
· Ensure that first aid kit and fire extinguisher are maintained, (i.e. order supplies, check inspection date
on fire extinguisher).

Qualifications:

Must possess a valid South Carolina driver's license. Must have a safe driving record and provide a copy of
the 3‐year Motor Vehicle Report history. Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 pounds and carry it 50 feet.
Must be able to read a map and organize daily route schedule. Must be familiar with assigned area. Must
be able to pass drug‐screening procedure. Must possess excellent customer service skills. Must be able to
drive 5‐speed manual transmission. Must be able to be D.O.T. Certified
