Salary: Engineering Manager TelecommunicationsAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of GIS Technicians and OSP Engineers in the design, development, and deployment of advanced telecommunications infrastructure. This role will work closely with leadership, project managers, and project residents to ensure engineering deliverables meet client needs while upholding standards for safety, quality, and cost efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, organize, and direct all activities associated with outside-plant (OSP) telecommunications projects, with an emphasis on quality, effectiveness, and efficiency.Provide technical oversight and day-to-day management for on-site project staff.Support personnel development through performance appraisals, coaching, and continuous feedback.Recommend personnel actions, including promotions, transfers, disciplinary measures, and terminations.Serve as the primary liaison between the company and clients, ensuring expectations, schedules, and deliverables are consistently met.Travel to existing and prospective project sites, as well as industry trade shows.Maintain comprehensive documentation of project-related correspondence, including client discussions, contractor communications, and personnel actions.Negotiate with construction contractors and communicate project changes and issues to Project Managers, leadership, and clients.Ensure all engineering work aligns with industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines.QualificationsBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.7 years of engineering experience within the telecommunications industry.5 years of supervisory or management experience.Proven experience in telecom infrastructure design and deployment (fiber, wireless, or broadband).Experience with GIS, mapping, boundary and topographic surveys, as-built documentation, construction staking, and ROW staking using digital platforms.Strong knowledge of construction practices and techniques related to utility work.Ability to work independently and travel to job sites as needed.Valid drivers license and ability to pass a substance abuse screening.In-depth familiarity with RUS specifications, contracts, and construction procedures.Skills & AbilitiesExceptional leadership and people management capabilities.Strong understanding of telecommunications design standards (TIA/EIA, IEEE, NEC, RUS, etc.).Proficiency with engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, GIS, ESRI, or related platforms.Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).Why Join PEC?Competitive benefits package: Health, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life insurance, 401(k), and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)A culture that values teamwork, innovation, and professional developmentPEC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
