Description
The purpose of this position is to interact with our guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining at the resort. Bartenders are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, bartenders are expected to be attentive to our guest needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed. Bartenders are expected to have extensive drink knowledge.
- Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce.
- Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
- Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner and promote popular and special drinks. Mix garnishes and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
- Input orders at the point of sale and create a check for each guest to maintain accountability of all products.
- Maintain proper dining experience by efficiently delivering items, fulfilling guest needs, offering drinks, removing soiled dishes, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
- Handle all cash and credit card charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures.
- Practice "Teamwork" and "Clean as you Go" policies.
- Accurately complete tip declaration form daily.
- At close, lock up and store all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposit cash drops, and secure bank according to GCR cash handling procedures.
- Address and correct guest comments and complaints (Service Recovery).
- Advise supervisor of any complaints and/or resolutions as soon as they occur.
- All Bartenders must successfully complete T.I.P.S. Training within initial 90 days.
- Adhere to all state and local laws and policies of the resort regarding the sale and service of alcohol.
- Responsible for sanitation in and around the bar area.
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
- Attend daily shift meetings.
- Understand and communicate products and services available at the resort.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21
- Previous bartending experience required
- 2 years experience in a high volume restaurant preferred
- Outdoor setting requiring work in diverse weather conditions, including high temperatures
- ServSafe Alcohol Training Certificate and License required, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
