Job Summary
Packaging Operator I is an hourly, non-exempt position, requiring minimal chemical plant experience, who can successfully fill, stack and label finished product. This position requires frequent moving, exertion of moderate to heavy physical effort, and standing.
Duties: (Packaging Operator)
- Set up, operate, and monitor packaging equipment
- Safely and properly operate packaging and ancillary equipment
- Fill, stack and label bags according to Standard Operating Procedures
- Operate a fork truck to move pallets
- Meet customer requirements
- Adhere to all Palmer safety requirements, including safe ergonomics
- Report quality control issues to the Lead Operator or Manufacturing Manager
- Perform sampling for in-process and final product acceptance testing
General Requirements: (Packaging Operator)
- Must be willing to work overtime
- Demonstrated safe work practices including the usage of PPE
- Be able to life 50-55 lbs. frequently, 55-100 lbs. occasionally with necessary assistance
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs frequently
- Must be able to wear respiratory protection
- Ability to work in a wide range of environments (indoors & outdoors) in varying degrees of hot and cold weather conditions
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must be able to follow both written and oral instructions
- Preferred knowledge of manufacturing processes and the operation of manufacturing equipment
- Preferred knowledge of computers/control systems
- Legible handwriting
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 years of manufacturing or physical labor task experience

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
