The Warranty and Service Technician is responsible for evaluating and performing warranty repairs by assessing original door installations, determining service eligibility, and completing necessary repairs or adjustments. This role supports customer satisfaction by delivering professional service, accurate documentation, and high-quality workmanship during on-site service visits.
Success in this role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to communicate effectively with homeowners, installers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate with homeowners and installers to assess warranty eligibility and determine the appropriate scope of service.
- Inspect job sites to evaluate installation conditions and identify service or repair requirements.
- Perform repairs, adjustments, and replacements on door components using hand and power tools.
- Set doors, adjust operation, and install hardware to ensure proper fit, function, and performance.
- Complete work orders and required service documentation accurately and collect payments upon job completion when required.
- Install or remove lights and bore or cut holes in flooring or doors as needed during repair or installation activities.
- Perform final quality inspections to ensure doors operate smoothly and meet service standards.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach while representing the company during service visits.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Two or more years of experience in construction, carpentry, or door installation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook required.
Requirements:
- Satisfactory criminal history check
- Satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
- Satisfactory result on a pre-employment drug screening
