The Warranty and Service Technician is responsible for evaluating and performing warranty repairs by assessing original door installations, determining service eligibility, and completing necessary adjustments or part replacements. This role involves on-site inspections, coordination with homeowners and installers, collecting payments, and executing repairs or hardware installations with precision using power and hand tools, all while ensuring proper documentation and customer satisfaction.
Shift: Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm (overtime as business requires).
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate with homeowners and installers to assess warranty eligibility and define the appropriate scope of service.
- Inspect job sites to evaluate installation conditions and determine door suitability and service needs.
- Perform repairs or replacements on door components using hand and power tools, including setting doors, adjusting operation, and applying hardware.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, such as work orders, and collect payment upon job completion.
- Install or remove lights and bore or cut holes in flooring or doors as required for repairs or installations.
- Ensure doors are adjusted properly for smooth operation and perform final quality checks after service.
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- 2 plus years of experience in Construction, carpentry, or door installation
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook
Requirements:
- Satisfactory criminal history check
- Satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
- Satisfactory result on a pre-employment drug screening
