What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machine Operator - Mid Shift position at Palmer-Donavin?
The Machine Operator is responsible for supporting door manufacturing operations by interpreting production orders, preparing materials, and assembling fiberglass, aluminum, and wood products to specification. This position works across multiple stages of the production process while maintaining quality standards, workplace safety, and operational efficiency.
Shift: Sunday – Thursday | 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Overtime may be required based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Review production paperwork and job instructions to identify product specifications and assembly requirements.
- Pull, stage, and prepare door slabs, hardware, and production materials for manufacturing.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and production equipment to assemble, modify, and repair door components.
- Safely transport materials and completed products between workstations.
- Conduct visual inspections to ensure product quality and identify defects or inconsistencies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Assist with additional production and operational tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, or industrial operations environments preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented production setting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Basic familiarity with hand and power tools preferred.
Requirements
- Ability to lift, move, and handle materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the duration of the shift.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening.
