What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contracts Specialist position at Palm Tran?
Responsible for implementing and expediting a variety of contract agreements for goods and services, and other items in support of the functions of contract administration for Palm Tran. Work involves assisting with the preparation of formal and informal solicitations, analyzing proposals and making recommendations of awards. Work involves contact with internal management/supervision as well as numerous other County departments, outside agencies and the public. Work is performed under the supervision of the section manager and is reviewed through conferences, written reports, observations of work and results obtained.
Work is performed within the established rules set forth by County, Palm Tran, federal, state and local authorities, and conducted with the utmost regard for the safety of the passengers, the public and all equipment.
Associate’s degree in a related field and two (2) years of experience in procurement, contract monitoring, compliance or administration.
Equivalency: High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience as listed above.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License
Knowledge of Advantage Financial System.
