- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Administer medications via injections, IV infusions, and other routes while adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques.
- Assist with medical procedures including catheterization, wound suturing, tube feeding, and specimen collection/processing.
- Monitor patients’ responses to treatments such as pain management protocols, sedation, or respiratory support like ventilators and neonatal ventilators.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in acute care environments such as ICU, emergency room, or Level I Trauma Center settings for triage and urgent interventions.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease in memory care or assisted living facilities; support patients with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in EMR/EHR systems like Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; ensure compliance with documentation standards including ICD-9/10 coding and CPT coding for procedures.
- Proven experience working in diverse clinical environments including hospital medicine, medical-surgical units, long-term care facilities, hospice care, or home & community care settings.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, diagnostic evaluation techniques, and medical terminology relevant to acute and chronic conditions.
- Skilled in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, intake/output recording, and basic life support (BLS).
- Proficiency in IV insertion/insertion techniques such as venipuncture and IV infusion management; experience with sterile processing is a plus.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; capable of accurate medical documentation and ICD coding practices.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals of all ages—including pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), geriatrics (including dementia care), and pediatric populations—demonstrating cultural sensitivity and compassion.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols, sterile technique (including suturing), catheter care, and airway management procedures.
