Overview:
We are an established and growing Family Practice extending an exciting opportunity for a Medical Assistant to learn, grow and advance their career in healthcare.
We are looking for a professional, reliable and knowledgeable individual capable of multitasking and communicating well.
Administrative duties include scheduling appointments, chronic care management and refilling prescriptions.
Clinical duties include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination and administering medications.
We are a team, and we would like for you to join us. We offer incentive bonuses for all staff members, paid monthly. New hires are eligible to participate in our office bonus/incentive program after one month.
Responsibilities include:
Recording patients' medical history, vital signs and test results in the medical record, venipuncture and EKG.
Preparing treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
Interviewing patients as to their medical history.
Cleaning and sterilizing instruments and disposing of contaminated supplies.
Showing patients to the exam room and preparing them for the provider.
Explaining treatment procedures, medications, diets and provider's instructions to patients.
Helping provider examine and treat patients, handing them instruments and materials or performing such tasks as giving injections or removing sutures.
Administering subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, performing basic lab tests and changing dressings.
Directing lab results to a provider.
Contacting patients with lab results as instructed by the provider.
Performing essential office operations, including documentation and interacting with hospitals and other physician's offices.
Verifying patient’s identification and benefits.
Assisting the front office staff as needed.
Preparing collected specimen for laboratory analysis.
Ordering supplies and maintaining the lab.
Managing biohazard receptacles.
Maintaining OSHA and HIPPA standards.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. Certificate or diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
Experience:
One year experience as a Medical Assistant required
Venipuncture, EKG and the ability to use an Electronic Medical Record
Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Medical Assistant Certification required
Must Pass Background Check
Job Type: Full-time
