URGENTLY HIRING a "floater" position
Duties to assist:
- Help medical office with clerical and administrative tasks such as faxes, scanning, record management and follow- up phone calls
- Roles may change daily dependent on office needs
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors at the front desk
- Register patients by verifying their demographic information and insurance details
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Answer high volume phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate department
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations/referrals
- Collect co-pays and payments for services rendered
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of information
- Provide administrative support to medical staff as needed
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Basic nowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy
- Familiarity with medical administrative support tasks, such as coding and insurance verification
- Proficiency in using computer systems and electronic medical records
- Previous experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred
