What are the responsibilities and job description for the TECHNICAL AIDE position at Palm Beach County?
Provides technical and administrative support by maintaining technical records and permits. Maintains/schedules work orders and procurement duties for multiple water/wastewater treatment plants; maintains inventory records of supplies, equipment, chemicals, and fixed assets. Schedules training events/meetings and completes other clerical activities as needed. Assists in preparing technical reports and analysis from Maximo, Crystal, or other databases for inclusion in operations and maintenance management or technical reports. Delivers asset life cycle activities, including the operation, maintenance, optimization, and rationalization of assets. Works with the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Manager, Superintendent, O&M Supervisors, and other Department personnel to administer the Department's Maximo Computerized Maintenance Program. Performs other duties as required immediately before, during, and after hurricanes and other natural and manmade disasters and emergencies.
Qualifications
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of four (4) years of specialized secretarial work experience in engineering, utilities, or the construction industry. Equivalencies: Associate's Degree AND two (2) years of specialized secretarial work experience in engineering, utilities, or the construction industry; Bachelor's Degree AND six (6) months of specialized secretarial work experience in engineering, utilities, or the construction industry.
PREFERENCE FOR TWO (2) YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Working with materials used in the operations/maintenance of a water utility (must specify on application); using Maximo; using MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Publisher/Access. Also desirable: Knowledge of the Palm Beach County geographic area (must specify on application).
